<p><head> <meta content="text/html;charset=utf-8" http-equiv="Content-Type" /> <title> I think that the Olympics are going to do me in. For the past week we have been staying up late and watching as much as we can and the late night nights combined with the early morning workouts are wearing me out. To top it off Alex isn’t staying up late so on the mornings that we do get to sleep in he is up at his regular hour.
I’ve been pretty impressed with the coverage this year since they had some pretty good coverage of the swimming. I guess I really shouldn’t be to surprised about that since they were really hyping Phelps leading up to the games.
Anyway we were sitting at the table tonight eating dinner and as usual Alex was done before us and he went to go play with his ball. He usually only lasts for a couple of minutes playing by himself before he wants us to come and join him. To let us know this tonight he took to bouncing his volley ball off the back of my head. We went through the usual stuff trying to get him to stop but when that didn’t work I went to the trusty standby.
‘Do we need to go upstairs and have a talk about our behavior?”
This usually has the desired affect and Alex typically stops mis-behaving. Well tonight he took us both by surprise and said.
“Ya, I think so”
I really wanted to just bust out laughing but I had to remain serious so we went up to his room and had a heart to heart father and son talk about behavior.
