I don’t need this forkin’ spoon.

The other day we were getting ready to eat, Alex was already sitting at the table, and I brought him a fork and spoon. It turns out he already had both and as I was walking back to the kitchen to get something else he said,

“Dad, I don’t need this forkin’ spoon.”

It took me a second to realize that he wasn’t using a rather colorful adjective to describe his spoon but rather the “fork and” part was just run together.
