Picture Update

I’ve spent the last couple of weeks trying to get caught up on all the pictures from 2012 that I have been meaning to get to. I think today I’m finally caught up and ready to start on 2013. There are a lot of updates so here it goes.

  • Vacation to Florida – As it has been our tradition for the past couple of years we spend the first week of summer vacation in Florida. This year my my sisters family joined us and the cousins all got to hang out and have a great time.
  • Summer Swim Team – Pictures from a couple of the swim meets the boys did this summer.
  • Alex Triathlon – Alex had been asking to do another triathlon and this year we finally managed to sign him up for the same Dallas kids tri that he did a couple of years back.
  • Trip to New Orleans – Before the kids started back after the summer break we took a trip to New Orleans to see the Grandparents. On this trip we also did some things that we haven’t ever done before like visit the Old Mint, the Pontalba buildings, and the Mardi Gras Museum.
  • Caroline at the Gym – Caroline did an introduction to Gymnastics class.
  • Caroline Ballet – She also took an introduction to ballet class.
  • Halloween – Halloween pictures from this year.
  • Christmas – To finish out the year some pictures from Christmas.

Now I have a couple hundred pictures of the recent Disney trip to sift through 🙂

Pumpkin Carving

Since tomorrow is Halloween we all went out to the garage this afternoon for a pumpkin carving extravaganza. This is the first year that Caroline could really help out with her pumpkin and she drove right in and had lots of fun.

The boys worked hard on their pumpkins as well but unfortunately I don’t have any pictures of the finished pumpkins. I’ll see if I can get any tomorrow night.

Lacrosse – Halloween Shootout

I’m finally getting around to putting these pictures up but over the Halloween weekend Alex took part in his first lacrosse tournament. They played three games over two days and ended up winning two of their three games. I thought that the played really well and in the first game he scored a goal.

I took a bunch of pictures over the weekend which you can find on the website.

Halloween Party

Andrew really wanted to have a Halloween party this year and with a couple of weeks of planning Jen was able to put together a pretty cool shin-ding. Alex invited a bunch of his friends and Andrew had friends from his school and soccer team over, and even Caroline had a friend over from music class. In the end it felt like we had about 700 kids running around the house and thank god the rain held out so they could play outside otherwise it would have been chaos.

For the weeks leading up to the party Jen worked hard at decorating the house with Halloween themed things and the night before the party and into the next day we both spent lots of time baking all kinds of Halloween themed goodies.

One of the funniest things was the morning after the party. We had cleaned up fairly well after the party but we ended up leaving some chocolate cookies on the counter. Andrew thought that he was going to be sneaky and eat one of the cookies for breakfast without telling anyone. When I walked into the kitchen and he was standing there making his broccoli face and looking generally like he was going to be sick.

“What’s wrong?” I asked him. With a his mouth full of half eaten chocolate cookie he managed to mumble while drooling on himself,

“I took a bite of cookie and it’s not good.”

He he, well that totally backfired on you didn’t it.

Here’s the Halloween pictures.
